Elite Technology
Modern technology to raise achievement.
Inquiry-based learning, Computer Science from Form 1 to Form 6, and a school that keeps parents connected.
From the day Elite opened in January 2013, our inquiry-based philosophy has been built on the use of modern technology to raise learner achievement. Technology at Elite is not a subject on the side. It supports how our learners research, create and present their work, and how the school keeps parents informed.
Computer Science, Form 1 to Form 6
Computer Science is offered at both ZIMSEC O Level and A Level, so a learner can follow it from Form 1 right through to Form 6. Every learner in Forms 1 to 4 contributes a termly computer levy that goes towards keeping our computer facilities running.
Our computer lab
Our computer lab is where Computer Science comes to life. Learners use it for lessons, practical coursework, research and typing up assignments, and it is equipped with office and programming software so that what they learn in theory they can practise hands-on.
The lab is also open to other subjects. A Geography class can research a case study, a Business and Enterprise Skills class can build a spreadsheet, and an English class can draft and edit an essay.
Practical robotics and AI
Elite is introducing practical robotics and artificial intelligence lessons, in partnership with Rongeka Africa. Learners design, build and program simple machines, discover how AI works, and learn to use AI tools well and responsibly. Read the announcement.
Connectivity
Elite is connected to the internet through Starlink satellite internet. Learners use it in the computer lab for research and coursework under a teacher’s supervision, and the school office relies on it to keep learner records and messages to parents up to date.
Online, the same values apply as in the classroom: learners are expected to use the internet respectfully, honestly and for learning.
A connected school for parents
Elite runs its learner records, fees and parent communication on Rongeka Africa, a school management platform. For parents this means:
- school messages delivered straight to your phone on WhatsApp, and
- accurate, up-to-date fee records for every learner.
Make sure the school office has your current WhatsApp number so you never miss a message.
